The preliminary brief we were given was as follows:
Mrs Burnett has asked Sixth Form Media Students to produce a new magazine for Ballakermeen High School, targeted at a Sixth Form audience.
The brief has two specific tasks attached to it:
Task 1 is to create the front page of the first edition of this new magazine, using Photoshop and InDesign. It must include:
- a masthead
- a photograph of a student in MCU
- Cover lines
Task 2 is to create a contents page layout on InDesign. As it only asks for a wireframe, we don’t need to include any actual content.
Response to Preliminary project brief
The key thing is that the target audience is sixth form students. For research I will use my peers for questionnaires before I start my magazine to get to know what to do and what not to do.
I also will need to do research on how to create a magazine and practice, as I haven’t done one before.
The things I need to complete by the end of this week are to:
- take a photo for the front cover
- complete design and choose what colour scheme I will use
- chose my taglines
- design what I would like to be displayed to attract the target audience
Finally I have not used Photoshop or InDesign before. To make my work better I am going to watch tutorials and get my teachers to show me the basics before I start my practical work to get the best results.
